M. Betty Redmond, age 94, left this earthly world peacefully at her home in Binghamton, NY on November 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Betty was born on January 26, 1922 in Watertown, NY daughter of Walter H. and Dora E. Paul. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John P. Redmond, daughter, Judith K. Bucci; son-in-law, Timothy E. Nerger. Betty is survived by two daughters, Linda J. Redmond, Binghamton, and Jo Ann Nerger, Oklahoma City, OK; two grandsons, Jonathan J. (Sara) Nerger and Randall T. (Regina) Nerger; four great-grandchildren, Jack, Cora, Anna...

M. Betty Redmond, age 94, left this earthly world peacefully at her home in Binghamton, NY on November 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Betty was born on January 26, 1922 in Watertown, NY daughter of Walter H. and Dora E. Paul. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John P. Redmond, daughter, Judith K. Bucci; son-in-law, Timothy E. Nerger. Betty is survived by two daughters, Linda J. Redmond, Binghamton, and Jo Ann Nerger, Oklahoma City, OK; two grandsons, Jonathan J. (Sara) Nerger and Randall T. (Regina) Nerger; four great-grandchildren, Jack, Cora, Anna and Jeffrey. Betty graduated from Watertown High School and after attending business school worked for several years at the Jefferson County Clerks office in Watertown, NY. She married John in 1943 and moved to Albuqerque, NM where he was stationed with the US Army Air Corp. and were relocated to Louisville, KY where he was stationed in 1945. After John's service in the military they returned to Watertown, NY for a few years before moving to Webster, NY where they resided for 52 years, raising their three daughters. Betty was a long time employee of the Webster Central School District working in the payroll and business offices until her retirement. She loved golf and was a member of the Ontario Golf Club. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Women's Club of Webster. Betty thoroughly enjoyed crafting, painting, cross stitching and gardening. She also her bridge and euchre groups before she and her husband relocated to Binghamton, NY in 2003. She became a member of the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm the time of service on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Wm. R Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. Burial service will be at Webster Rural on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm. in lieu of flowers, please make donations in Betty's name to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850 or a charity of your choice.
